Skip Leg Day is a high contrast display typeface combining strict geometry with smooth bold curves. It’s made for headlines and posters conveying a playful and contemporary mood. The name is are reference to weight training at the gym, where the phenomenon of skipping working out legs results in a highly buffed upper body and skinny legs. This phenomenon is translated into skinny vertical stems combined with bold curves. Furthermore the weight of the type doesn’t follow the typical naming such as regular and bold but rather regularly and always. The typeface is developed in a typeface class led by Matthias Pauwels at Schule für Gestaltung, Basel.
